Culture Bit: Travel Journals

在西方文化中，許多人在旅行時會隨身攜帶一本 Travel Journal (旅行日記)。這不僅僅是記錄行程，更是寫下個人感受(reflections)和收集票根(ticket stubs)的地方。一篇標準的日記通常會以日期和天氣開頭！

Kelly's Travel Journal

Date: 15th October. Weather: Sunny but cold.

This is my travel journal! Last weekend, my family and I went on a guided tour to Edinburgh. We used a guidebook to find the best places. We visited a castle which was older than the city itself. It was amazing! However, my brother Karl was careless and almost lost his passport. We had to look for it everywhere.

Before this trip, I had a bad day. I was going to school on my bicycle. I had a sore throat and a runny nose. I should have stayed at home, but I didn't. Because I felt ill, I lost control of my bicycle and fell off. I got a wound on my knee. The doctor put a bandage on it and gave me some ointment. Now I know that when I am ill, I should rest properly!

Next month, we are going to Yosemite National Park. I read a magazine article about how tectonic plates create cliffs there. They looked very crowded in the pictures, but I am excited to see them!
